Welcome to Spartan Country!
This year, our north star is simple and non-negotiable: quality teaching and learning in every classroom, every day. We are doubling down on planning with purpose, delivering instruction aligned to clear standards, and using evidence of student learning to adjust in real time. Walkthroughs, coaching, and PLC cycles are not βextrasββthey are the work.
A major driver of this commitment is our disciplinary literacy vision. Every teacher is a literacy teacher, and every classroom is a place where students read, write, speak, and think like experts in the fieldβhistorians sourcing evidence, scientists analyzing data, mathematicians justifying reasoning, artists critiquing technique, and career-tech scholars communicating with precision. Across classrooms, you will see complex, content-rich texts and tasks in all subjects; explicit academic vocabulary and structured discussion; frequent short writing tied to evidence and problem solving; and regular checks for understanding that inform immediate next steps.
We also believe school should be both challenging and joyful. Spartans work hardβand we have fun doing it. Students can expect Spartan SMART Lunch with tutoring, clubs, and student-led activities; Friday Night Lights, spirited pep rallies, and a memorable Homecoming Week; showcases in CTE, FFA, the arts, and robotics, along with performances and exhibitions that place student talent front and center; and service projects, College and Career events, and traditions like Senior Sunrise that build community and pride.
Our commitments this year are clear. We will deliver strong instruction in every course, anchored in high expectations. We will provide targeted support and meaningful extension so every student is known, challenged, and successful. We will sustain a safe, inclusive culture in which respect is the norm and accountability is real.
We have momentum, and we have work to do. Togetherβwith focus, consistency, and the Spartan spiritβwe will deliver the excellent education our students deserve. We are Spartans for Life.
With Spartan pride,
Dr. Angeline A. Rivello
