Almost twenty-five years ago, a group of parents, educators and community members came together to bring life to an idea. Their goal was to create a school that would provide the families of Middletown, Odessa, and Townsend (MOT) the education their children deserved - to build a community of educators who would meet their children where they were, who would inspire and encourage them, who would challenge and motivate them to grow and develop in ways they had not previously imagined. Now, as we approach the twenty-fifth anniversary of our opening, this simple idea has grown into one of the top educational institutions in the region. Today MOT Charter School serves almost 1,400 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade on two distinctive campuses in Middletown, Delaware.
The foundation of the MOT Charter experience remains the sense of connection and community that we work to develop each and every day. At MOT our goal is to prepare students to be creative, intuitive, and analytical thinkers who will solve problems individually and collaboratively, using critical thinking skills cultivated through rigorous interdisciplinary study. We are committed to bringing families, students, and faculty together to create a supportive, inclusive, and joyful learning community. We actively teach and practice mutual respect, ensuring that academic, cultural, and personal differences are accepted, valued and celebrated. Collaboration in our student-centered environment ensures that students learn to communicate effectively, value diverse and unique perspectives, and engage in thought-provoking discourse that capitalizes on the collective strengths of the group. Intellectual curiosity and creativity establish a culture of innovation at MOT that prepares students to lead the way in solving the problems of today and the challenges of tomorrow. We are a community of passionate educators dedicated to these core values β COMMUNITY, RESPECT, COLLABORATION, INNOVATION β and to your childβs future.
